This article shows U.S. Census totals for Grafton County, New Hampshire, broken down by municipality, from 1900 to 2010. Most areas of New England are entirely divided into incorporated municipalities, with no unincorporated territory. In the three northern New England states, however, some unincorporated territory does exist, generally in areas that are very sparsely populated. Grafton County contains a small amount of unincorporated territory, one of three counties in New Hampshire to have such areas. The unincorporated territory in Grafton County consists of a tract measuring about , in a remote area of the White Mountains on the county’s eastern edge. This area was once incorporated as the town of Livermore, and is still sometimes referred to as “Livermore Township”. Livermore disincorporated in 1951 due to population loss; almost all its land area is now part of the White Mountain National Forest, and in only one census since 1940 has it reported any population. Except for Livermore, all of Grafton County is incorporated. There are two types of incorporated municipalities in New Hampshire, towns and cities. The tables below differentiate between towns and cities. For any census, adding up the totals for each municipality, including Livermore, should yield the county total. (Note that, for censuses up through 1950, Livermore was an incorporated town. In that era, Grafton County was entirely divided into incorporated municipalities, following the standard procedure in New England.) For more information on the New England municipal system, see New England town. ==Corporate changes since 1900==
*1951 – Livermore disincorporated and reverted to unorganized territory *1957 – Lebanon became a city *1962 – New town of Sugar Hill formed from Lisbon *1967 – Waterville changed its name to Waterville Valley
